Campsites

In truth, good campsites are hard to come by. By good, the key criteria for us are clean toilets, hot showers, stunning views, and the chance to sit around your own fire. These two fit the bill, they’re the ace;

Llyn Gwynant campsite

The Gwynant campsite lies to the south of Snowdon, at the head of a beautiful glacial valley. It’s practical for the Pyg and Miners’ tracks, and also the Watkin Path. You must pop your head into the Gwynant Café at the end of the lake too- best cakes around! You can also hire canoes to go on the lake, and there’s even a mobile pizza oven at the weekend. Winner!

Snowdon Inn campsite

The Cwellyn Arms pub is home to great beers and food. A ten minute wander, or two minute drive will see you at the pub’s campsite. It’s in a perfect location, on the quitter side of Snowdon, and gives access to the Ranger and Rhyd-ddu paths. It’s lakeside, the toilets have underfloor heating, and the pub is within easy walking distance. It doesn’t get much better!
