Winter walking in Scotland. Exciting stuff!
Scotland in Winter

The world famous Scottish winter experience

The feeling of untouched snow underfoot as you step onto the summit of a deserted Scottish peak is a truly magical. Perhaps topped only by stepping through the doorway of the pub on your return to civilisation!

for full details and a course proposal send us an email

These two days are tailored perfectly for you on your first winter conditions adventures. Ideal if you have done a fair amount of summer walking and are now looking for a solid introduction to the particular challenges that come with walking in winter conditions.

Although this is essentially a ‘guided’ course, there is plenty of opportunity for asking questions and learning on the hill.

What will the course offer?

Each day is tailored to the aspirations of your group, and the conditions in the mountains. Safety and enjoyment are, as always, the two main priorities. You are likely to cover…

  • Walking safely in crampons in winter conditions
  • Effective use of the ice axe
  • Winter style navigation
  • How to plan an appropriate winter mountain day
  • Avalanche awareness and avoidance
  • As well as summiting some classic peaks!

Prices for your Scottish adventure…

The recommended minimum group size is two so you can share the experience. Because we like to keep it personal and safe, the biggest group we can accommodate is six.
